yeah, but you probably figured out by now that you will never change your parents. There will never come a time that your parents will feel you were right and they were wrong, or that they were unfair, or acknowledge you as an adult. I think growing up is about realizing that and learning to let it stop bothering you, and to love them because they are your parents without expecting them to be “fair.”

@tegm, that is very sad that you feel this way. My mother and I have a wonderful relationship built on mutual trust and respect. She has freely admitted that she was wrong and unfair in certain things with I was growing up. My mother has fully acknowledged that I am an adult, with a husband and a child. I enjoy seeing her and talking to her, there are no lectures or telling me what to do. Most of my friends also have this type of relationship with their mothers.
