Well, you have to do that now, because the tag is a crispy plastic thing that will drive you nuts if you don’t. Note country of origin, too. Same as everything else you own.
The tags actually say something like “Not to be removed under penalty of law, except by end user”. So if you bought it, you are allowed to yank off the tag.
This is probably the most misunderstood law in the country. The tags are not to be removed, except by the consumer! Does no one know what consumer means?
