What?!? I thought Krispy Kreme would get the sponsorship. It’s too bad that they missed out on the marketing opportunity. ;-)

I buy an $8 Dunkin Donut pound of coffee. I buy a $2 Dunkin Donut cup of coffee, Sliderules ready? I get less flavor from my $8 coffee than I do from my $2 coffee. Believe me, I’m a Marine (like Jethro Gibbs, NCIS) I do not stint on coffee in my pot. Perhaps if I learned to cook doughnuts?

I am thinking of starting a donut shop that specializes in alcohol laced donuts and pastries. I cannot decide whether to call it “Drunkin’ Donuts” or “Tipsy Creme”. I hope I can get a sponsor.

Hmmm…Let’s work it backwards – Could Dunkin’ now qualify as a church, and have tax exempt status? And how can I join the priesthood? I can see it now – “Saint Danae of the Divine Donut.” Amen.

Has to be Dunkin Donuts. I’ve yet to see a Krispy Kreme in Maine. However, there’s a Dunkin Donuts in every little town here…

“Wiley, I hope Dunkin paid for the placement.”

I wish. Dunkin Donuts is all over New England, which is where Danae is, so it was the logical choice.

Remember the tea party wanting to abolish all government except for those items expressly mentioned. That would include firefighting. Perry and the tea party talks the talk, but none of them walk the walk; otherwise they’d be down in Texas filling buckets themselves. Just shows what hypocrites they are. The Church of Danae would let ’em in if they leave room for donuts, though. Maybe that sugar would sweeten them all up!

This is the only adult funny strip to my liking, and I am so disappointed that the Phila Inquirer chose to eliminate it from their comic line up in the weekly and daily paper. Now I have to get it on line, which may not be the worst thing in the world, but it is an inconvenience since I pay for the paper daily and weekly.

In Canada it would definitely be Tim Horton’s, but understand the availability of Dunkin’ Donuts in Danae’s town. Lots of people drive to Tim’s in their p.j.’s for their morning fix of coffee, before they even start to get ready for work!o

Great art & storyline Wiley, thanks.

@Lewreader- You can buy the bagged product all over, but without the same brewing equipment and water filters, it won’t taste the same as at the store no matter how much you use or don’t use; plus, once ground, coffee loses flavor dramatically after the bag is opened. Can you get it in K-cups?

@ Laugh-a-minute- I too used to get home delivery of the Inky, and headed mainly for the comics and puzzles first thing; cancelled years ago when prices jumped and delivery became a little erratic (later than my leaving the house for work). I retired 7 yrs ago, bur still don’t miss the morning paper delivered to my doorstep or playing hide-and-seek for it somewhere on the lawn in the rain and snow. Especially since the best part’s here. Ever see comments on the funny pages?
