When did this conversation involve Luann’s love life? It’s time for Gunther to shine in his utmost purity.

Heavy? The only thing I remember was the kiss on New Years night. Anything else, something got in the way to break it up.

The only thing that get’s in the way of Luann experiencing romance is her own stupidity. Take notes, Gunth.

When I was 16 I remember that my hormones made the decisiones for everything I did for years. Pittsville must have some type of hormone suppressing drugs in their water supply.

It really is like the 1950’s. Have you seen the way Brad and Toni kiss? She always has her arm between them and only lips touch.

Hey! This is a family strip!!

What ya expect? This is a family-friendly strip in a syndicated paper – they don’t allow explicit stuff published. If you are wishing for those, they are plenty of them elsewhere – you won’t find it in here.

Is Gunther bright enough [not just “smart” enough] to realize this is pal-ish banter with Luann? And that his only chance in the present for even the hope of an eventual romance is with Rosa?

They are both talking about their dates and neither of them are smiling. As a matter of fact, they look depressed. Maybe that’s because they are doing it wrong?

The only strip I read firts thing in the mornings. Really enjoy it!

It’s called debriefing. Happens a lot between friends & often between opposite sex friends – trying to get some real info on what’s happening, supposed to happen, should have happened.

This conversation, plus the facial expressions now give me the impression that Gunth is far from being over Luann. Note how he seeks to assure her that his date with Rosa was “Unromantic” and how deeply interested he is in Luann’s and Quill’s relationship. He was almost sunken when she says : “sometimes light becomes heavy.”

Rosa going to have to do all the work to get this relationship going….BTW, I can’t even imagine Gunther flirting with someone……..

I am so tired of this story line.

@Carolo1 – I know, if it weren’t for the fact that Greg is a good artist – he can really convey subtleties of emotion well (as well as draw beautiful women) – I’d be a lot less interested in this strip. The storylines tend to drag.

Lasting relationships begin with friendship. I should know; I’ve been in one of the best for almost 40 years.

Just what exactly are you waiting for, clyde? Everyone knows your tired old schtick by now, just like they’re familiar with the incessant whining that accompanies the deletion of your posts. For someone who’s so adamantly anti-censorship, maybe you’d care to explain why anything calling you on your BS manages to get deleted? Panel 2 tells me that Gunth assumed that Luann and Quill were already in a romantic relationship. He just wants further clarification for his own education and to help him in his beginning of a relationship with Rosa, IMO.

This is what I’ve been waiting for. Anyone who ever read the boards at cdotc will recognize poor picked on Jughead Jones’ screed as a cut ‘n’ paste of the highlights of clydefrog’s pity party of one – before his warty arse got bounced by admin for several years of egregious trolling, which included deleting other poster’s comments, threats and general abuse of the board at large. All his comments were deleted wholesale and his account was closed, altho he continued all these activities under several different identities until admin got tired of all the wholesale complaints about threats and deleted comments and closed the board for good.

Apparently clydetoad, Coach Kleats, Professor Chaos and now J Jones has found no better way to spend his time. I’m not surprised he “wants to drop the whole thing”, because he’d prefer his history not follow him and out him to new members here, but since he can’t stop trolling, it’s not like it’s such a big secret now, is it?

Is there self-censorship going on here? I just read that Jughead Jones admitted that he was the banned ClydeFrog and that he was entitled to be contrarian and generally antisocial because he has a constitutional right to annoy people. Then that post very quickly disappeared. Was it a case of oopsy? Or just a chance to lob a quick insult while claiming censorship? Anyway, hopefully things will settle down now. I really prefer to focus on the strip and discourse with the posters on-topic. The pipes, the pipes are calling …

Kleats has to behave himself there because admin had their eye on him from the get-go. Unlike the overworked guys at cdotc, Tony could monitor the board more closely, and he’s not the dimwit clyde wishes he were. He started out using a couple of different aliases before he settled on Kleats, and even then he started right in pushing the envelope – his posts were monitored and deleted if they crossed the line, so he can’t have nearly as much fun there. He generally settles for smarmily and hypocritically kissing Greg’s – oh, wait, that’s “Mr. Evans”- butt the way he used to at cdotc.

TLDNR.

When I was a teen we didn’t hide our teen behavior, It was out there for all the world to see. So why do people act like teens in this strip have to behave like they have all been neutered in order for the strip to be viewed by all ages? I realize this is fiction, but these teens act like some kind of pod people. This is more like science fiction.

Even though Luann is totally depressed about the romance-free lifestyle she has chosen to endure, at least we didn’t have to listen to her returning to school after the summer break complaining about how she was cheated out of yet another summer full of romance. She had the chance and blew it big time. And she would be stupid not to realize it. Tiff could not have done a better job ruining it for her.

I couldn’t agree with you more – it’s obvious it’s done purely to incite. Ignore, flag and delete and he’ll get nowhere fast. Maybe then he’ll finally move on to something more constructive like playing in traffic.

Perhaps this would be a good time to spoil the party. Plot leaks. Spills, thrills, joy kills.

You are sooo right! Luann getting mopey over Ben and running the risk of alienating her best friend, Bernice falling head over heels in love and wanting to marry Zach, Luann talking to Mrs. Horner because she felt she wasn’t being a very good person, Brad dealing with Dirk as well as Toni’s dependency issues – good times! I liked the fact that Greg actually dealt wirh emotional issues, and the fact that back then they weren’t dropped after 3 days for something else.

Now it’s like the strip is paced for ADHD Baptist conservatives and as a result there’s no depth to it – and not a lot of issues for anyone under 18 to relate to, either. Unless you’re a vapid teenager who occasionally auditions for Hollywood productions, and that’s too small a pool to pander to.

Ho ho, you wish! Sexting aside, wait’ll you find out what the little buggers are doing with the “vibrate” setting.

You all know what’s going to happen tomorrow, don’t you? Tiffany’s going to overhear this and start a fresh, brand-new plot to steal Quill away from Luann and keep him away from her until Quill moves back to Australia, leaving Launn stuck with Gunther and being hounded by Delta, Bernice and Mrs. Horner to become a couple and eventually getting stuck in a miserable, loveless, unsatisfying marriage with him.

Luann doesn’t have to put up with this. She doesn’t have to put up with this AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! Luann has a right to be happy and only Aaron Hill can give Luann the happiness she seeks.

Do the right thing, Luann—run away to Hawaii, reunite with Aaron Hill, then run away with him to Mexico so you can get married and have a bazillion kids. IT’S YOUR DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!
