verne: That's it? That's the new fall season? There's nothing worth watching! hammy: There's one last show! ..it's really wacky, with weirdo characters and best of all...it's got jam! RJ: Fascinating. intriguing. jam!
DreamWorks give them a movie, why not an animated TV series? They did with The Penguins Of Madagascar andsoon with Kung Fu Panda. So why not Over The Hedge: The Series?
Dear, dear Josh. The reason there should not be a TV show is simple. If they put this on television, the creator and artist would loose total control, the producers, which make horrible shows that they THINK will sell, will be making all the choices, and it will completely and totally not only the spirit but the life of this strip. No, my dear fellow reader, while the prospect is at first alluring, a television series would only kill the Over the Hedge we know and love.
And that’s the key: the original creator had creative control, or at least he had the respect of those who did. Boondocks is another example..Beside, the Over the Hedge movie stunk on ice…not a good sign.
The movie might have been better if it wasn’t done in 3D animation. We accept Vern standing on two legs in a line drawing, but it loses believability when he appears like a real object with depth and gravity. At least the turtle in Kung Fu Panda used a walking stick. Besides, a 2D line art series would be cheaper to animate for television.
A strip that I really like is “Freshly Squeezed” … I suggest you add it to your “Comic Page” and read it for a few days … I think you will want to keep it there. It is very well drawn and written.
Eh, I prefer peanut butter. Or even nut butter. Jelly just makes my head buzz in a bad way if I eat it straight. Also, fer me, it goes bad with toast. Just my own opinion.

If you watch Saturday Morning Cartoons now, it has to be cable. The last TV network (ABC) closed the door on them Sept. 3.
