And be careful of what you might track into the house.

So? The laces are so freakin’ long that, if I don’t, I step on them and that either causes them to come untied or get the Gordian knot in them. Either way, that leaves some long old string out there for me to trip over. So yeah, I double-knot.

I can’t bend over to tie my shoes without shutting off my wind. So I have a pair of old sneakers that I cut the tongues out of and I just slip my feet in and out without bending over. I maintain that’s pluggerism in its purist form………….

I think that double knotting is unsafe. If the loop catches on something there is no give in the lace and the child, or adult, can have a terrible fall.

I think they should go back to putting the shorter laces into shoes. If teenagers and young adults want longer laces they can buy them. Most people do not want long laces. Let the ones that do pay for them.

Or offer one pair of each with the shoes rather than two colors and both pairs are long.

No double knotting. When they’re tied I tuck the loops and excess lace inside the top of the sneaker.

I didn’t know any shoemaker still made children’s tennis shoes with laces these days! I thought they were all made of velcro now.
