It’s been years since I bought any icecream but the plastic tubs are still useful for storing leftovers, food for the freezer, and any small loose items: pens, adapter plugs, extra batteries etc.
My wife stores crabapple juice and pulp in US and Imperial (5 quart) gallon ice cream tubs and freezes them until cooler weather for making jelly and butter.
I used to do that, until our city gave us recycling barrels. I have no problem tossing plastic containers in there, unless it is an unusual size or shape. Then I save it, just in case. Waste not, want not! Younger generation NEVER got that concept.
I wonder if Cool Whip paid a product placement fee. This makes the Death Cartoon Collection at The Family Plot Blog! http://thefamilyplot.wordpress.com/category/death-cartoons/

Her daughter could buy her stainless steel bowls, and crystal, and she would use margarine tubs, and styrofoam cups.

We have lots of plastic food tubs in the back of the fridge, with a tablespoon or two of what once was leftover food.

Can’t you just see some novelty company making a ceramic cool whip container? Possibly to be used as Earl suggested?

For us plastic is great for putting extra food in remember to label. Also the containers with deli meats make great containers for lunches.

We do that all the time at my house. Makes it easy to store leftovers.

When the food in the back of the fridge gets all moldy and gross, you can just throw the whole container away!

Yes, I know that was a dark joke about the elderly, but keep in mind (if you would), neither of those two old souls aren’t “going home” anytime soon!
