Holly the waitress Still in her work dress Rushes to pick up the order Doug and Linda deserve To be truly served But this might be past Wally’s border We’ve seen Holly pragmatic Yet rather emphatic About the avoidance of killing Still, now she’s got a gun (And now Wally’s got one!) If they make a wrong move, she’ll be willing Of course she wasn’t told That the weapon she holds Is aware, and will not likely fire But in Wally’s left hand That gun hears no command And it has no conflicting desire =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum

There’s a risk in the path Holly’s taken And I fear that she might be mistaken She went right for the blaster Which could mean disaster And her hopes for it will be forsaken For the gun-with-a-brain will not shoot Linda knows, Holly doesn’t, to boot So by moving away From the hostage in play She can’t hide by the human galoot So far Linda’s not seen Wally’s gun And thinks hers is the only live one But if she pulls that trigger Her life gets no bigger For Wally will fire: she’s done But we cannot lose Holly that way! If Wally’s bite broke the skin; then madam Topsider is going to have a real monster to deal with. Besides, Wally has a Topsider shield.

Holly doesn’t have to fire the weapon; just get it out of Doug’s reach, and she’ll have disarmed him, at least.

No tears yet. The sealant means you can poke something sharp at it and it will hurt, but remain sealed. (It took Al a large amount of frantic pulling to break that seal.) Yes, Holly is just trying to get the weapon away from Doug, exposing herself to Linda’s own gun. Wally may fire to disarm only. It’d be a great overall strategy, if any of it was planned at all. And Flask will think it is. :)

Wait a minute, the Topsiders have been dealing with Endtowners for several years. The know they are armed. They were concerned about a possible bomb in Wally’s backpack, but not a raygun? Something does not compute here…

Then that must be an odd shaped potato Wally has in his hand in panel 4…..

Remember Wally was issued that rather scary gun, the one that the professor warned him was likely to overload and explode if he used it.

How about this? In panel 4 Linda is looking at Wally. Her target? Holly snatches the gun from Doug’s outstretched hand and blasts Linda. That leaves Wally with gun in hand and Doug in his grasp….a nice prize for Flask.
