When I was a kid watching old cowboy movies on TV, there was someone (was it Ken Maynard?) whose horse was named “Tarzan”. But he pronounced it “Tarzin” with the emphasis on the first syllable. Does anyone else remember, or is this another of my many false memories?
You guys reminded me of the movie, “Sunset”, with Bruce Willis playing Tom Mix and James Garner as Wyatt Earp. A little bit different than the old B&W silents…

YThe real start of the story is here (in fact, part I, part II will come after the story after this one ;-) ).

So the next adventure will be about Tarzan’s past adventures. Less civilized I hope.

All this is apropos of nothing, of course.

Ray, strangely enough, that’s the way we pronounced Tarzan’s name back when I was a kid. I used to wonder why people on TV pronounced it Tar-zan.

I write a column for a group of local newspapers in my area. For information on some of these guys checkout “Reel Memories” at wncsentinel.net.

Tom Mix also had a radio show. I think the lead in contained the phrase “Mile-a-minute adventure.”
Crash Corrigan starred in a series called “The Range Busters” I think. Wow, very old memories are coming back!
William Boyd as Hopalong Cassidy. We watched reruns on TV, I think on Sundays.

Don’t forget Tim Holt. There was another guy who played Red Ryder … can’t remember his name.
