Up, up, and away! Baby spiders of many species leave their birthplace by floating on filaments of silk that carry them into the wind, which can take them thousands of feet into the air, where they may travel for thousands of miles! Frank Crosetti was both a player and a coach with the New York Yankees for 37 consecutive seasons (1932-1968) and participated in a record 23 World Series, earning 17 championship rings! Zap! When men are told to go fly a kite, they tend to get ‘keyed’ up about it. It’s shocking, sometimes, Franklin!

WOW!!! That really is an incredible feat. (Crosetti) And as far as the lightening fact goes…well, duh…only males stay out to play (golf, hunting, fishing, baseball, whatever) when there’s a storm. We’re dumber that way.

as for lightning striking men,my guess is that it’s a matter of numbers.women the world over are probably less likely to be outside than men.

After Benjamin Franklin invented the lightning rod, fashion designers in Paris came up with a lightning rod for women, connected to a dragging chain. Uncertain if it saved (or took) any lives.

I read something amazing regarding the baby spiders floating on silk. Sailors aboard ship way out at sea have reported seeing these amazing little spiders riding inside balloons of silk. Awesome!

I always assumed E.B. White made that up.
