Dear Diary, Today was an awesome day! Justin Timberlake asked me to go to next year's Oscars with him! Nobody's gonna read it anyway.... I may as well go well all go out.
Oh, don’t worry about that, Heart, your mom reads every word of it. And one day when you’re 15 she’ll admit to it and you’ll be so crushed you’ll never write in a paper journal again, I know this from experience, sadly.

This is why I discontinued my secret diary in third grade: no point in writing what nobody else would read and I wouldn’t reread.
