Just tell Toby it’s genetic, and his hair will fall out too. He’ll shut up.

It was a genetic roll of the dice in my family as to who kept his hair and who…is happily rid of the nuisance.

Just TELLING Toby won’t make his hair fall out. He will still have to wait until he is older for it to happen.

And a kid never believes his hair will fall out, or his weight will suddenly change or that he’ll one day ‘just need glasses’. Old age is only for believers.

In my family, the guys’ hair goes grey very early (my Dad’s hair was snow-white by the time he was 50) but we keep it. When he was living at a retirement community shortly before his death at 89 he delighted in telling me that a fellow lady resident Dad told him how jealous her husband was that he still had most of his hair at that age.

I had long hair for a long time. I had to shave it last year because the bald spot was just getting too big. I really wish it would all fall out in one night. I don’t mind going bald: it’s the patchy still thick tufts hanging on for dear life that bug me.
