Well, Obama is going to raise $1 billion (or enough to finance 2 Solyndras). Kevin also needs to get a ground operation going. Getting on the ballots of both parties in every state is going to require a lot of signatures.
So ObamaCare is constitutional because it’s “regulating interstate commerce,” but striking down restrictions on spending money supporting speech “isn’t in our Constitution”? If you can’t spend your money to get your point across, what’s the point of having free speech?
If we have to accept Wickard, then we also have to accept Citizens United.
Apparently you didn’t read the constitution that closely. Nowhere does it guarantee everyone “equal measure.” Equal protection under the law doesn’t mean “fairness” or forced equality of outcome.
I don’t care whether Gingrich or Romney supported something. That doesn’t make it right. Democrats seem to have this notion that if Bush/Romney/Some GOPer supported it, it must be OK (except when Bush/Romney/etc. are actually in office).
Money doesn’t guarantee elections. Just ask Jon Corzine. Even all his Democratic Goldman Sachs money couldn’t fool the voters of New Jersey in 2009. Your $1 billion man of the people might find that out in 2012, as well.
