The feet were washed thoroughly, but this did not remove the yeast that grows between your toes. That yeast is what inoculated the grape juice with yeast, as opposed to other micro-organisms.
That’s how good wine is made still in some parts of the world.
Wonder if they take lessons from Lucille Ball?
