Why do we celebrate brutal, destructive conquerors again? Even if you make the argument “well, his actions contributed to the modern world”, no they didn’t. He thought he was in India. Columbus Day never fails to get me mad.
Hurricane Hattie is flunking two subjects in school: Historyand Geography! Well, she knows where Ohio is (hopefully),just that the state and the capital (Columbus) doesn’t exist yet!
What do Native American children and teenagers thiink of Columbus? He was an explorer who brutily turned peaceful natives into slaves, tortured them, and created genocide. Shoud we make this a holiday?
@ RUBBER DUCKY — Being closer to the North Pole, the growing season in Canada ends earlier in the year and crops are harvested earlier, In U.S. many crops are still in the field in October. Since Thangiviong was originally in celebration of a plentiful harvest …

Since this comic began in 1965. Only I didn’t started reading this strip in the newspaper until 1971. I was then age 11.
