Adam: Okay, we're just getting a hockey stick, a helmet and skates... Used. Clayton: I don't want used skates, you don't know what people do in them. Adam: Due to their limited, I'd bet skate... Almost exclusively. And when I was a kid, I wore all my brothers' and cousins' hand-me-downs. Clayton: When you were a kid, ice hadn't been invented yet.

These days they might be ahead to sell the kids and keep the sports equipment…

@Susan,You kidding? These days school bake sales are against the law. Unregulated food donchaknow… might give the kids diabetes, e-coli or some such. Much better they eat that healthy gunk cooked up by the trained and competent dietitians in the school kitchen.

This is not a school sport. Even at schools that have “teams”, these are generally club sports, often composed of kids from several schools. Theymust pay for all their own equipment and for icetime. The only thing they get from the school is theright to wear its name.
