Lio has helped some crustacean friends. What a kind-hearted boy! Such friends! Of course, Mr. Grocer is out a bundle….

Considering that the only lobsters that are red are ones that have already been boiled, they look pretty lively.

Once upon a time I was hired as a host in a small but famous inn. Adjacent to my station was a lobster tank—- not being able to afford the place, I hadn’t noticed. Not only did I have to see that every day, I had to keep it clean too. One of several reasons I was pleased to leave…

Lobsters are the cockroaches of the ocean. How do you feel about cockroaches?

I hope that was salt water he’s throwing them into. I knew someone who “freed” a lobster by throwing it into fresh water with the rubber bands still on the claws. (Well, he is smart enough to remove the rubber bands… I would guess he knows to put them into the sea…)

I love lobster, but I shudder at the thought of cooking anything alive.

Actually, I’ve seen red lobsters in the tank at my grocery store . . .at least red enough for me to think, “hmmm!”.My philosophy on eating other animals is that there is no really good source of B12 and D from non-animal sources that haven’t been fortified, we’re are omnivores, and beside chemolithotrophic bacteria and the like, all life thrives by eating other life. Becoming a vegetarian is just making your diet more difficult than it has to be.

Been a vegetarian since the 70s and I’m fine with it. Grains like quinoa are complete proteins, as are many other nutritious items.

Why has no one mentioned Edward Furlong? This is so clearly an homage to his lobster freeing stint several years back.
