This reminds me of my wife and kids, where my kids are not doing what they are supposed to do, and my wife tells them to do something, then she comes back to me to tell me that they are still not doing the thing that I want them to do. I guess she is “the ball” in that situation.
Today my boss told one of our purchasing coordinators to email me so I would call the administrative manager so she could tell one of our truck drivers to pick up some office supplies from my warehouse. My warehouse is about thirty miles from the main office; my boss’s office is about fifty feet from the administrative manager’s. It’s good to feel so useful.

I’d get on the ball, but I have a job to do.

“A someone”? I finally caught a typo before Scott corrected it.

“You’re the ball.” That really sums it up, doesn’t it? LOL!
