I came out of the BSA in 1999, having achieved my Eagle Scout award just as I turned 18. I never encountered anything this bad in my twelve years in scouting. While I recognize and understand that such tragedy has occured, I do not appreciate having the best years of my childhood written off as as if I was being constantly leered at by pedophiles. Comics like this continue to perpetuate the myth that all BSA scoutmasters are suspected pedophiles now, and my Eagle Scout achievement is now feels worthless because of the popular stereotype.
I agree. At mine was a similar scandal, but people (not only children) were molested by reverends. Thank God it wasn’t neither my family and friends, nor other people in town I know.

FWIW, I spent at least ten years in scouting and never once saw a hint of a suggestion of inkling of an impropriety.

I was a scout for 8 years, and we did have one molester for asst. scout master. Most of us knew, and 1 or 2 boys didn’t care….
