Is there meat in mincemeat? There used to be, back when it was a method for preserving meat. But not so much nowadays when it’s usually just a meatless pie-filling.

Let’s be honest, Thanksgiving is all about the pies!

All I know is that Mom refused to serve mincemeat. She said a fly flew in her mouth once, and it tasted like mincemeat, so that’s why she never served it.

In Australia, and I believe in England, mincemeat is STILL ground meat. In the USA, of course, mincemeat has become pie filling of apples and raisins, heavy on the cinnamon.
