If it is fake, what was he imagining to do by punching it ? If its not fake, why isnt their an army of those robots fighting for them? I mean whoa, little robo hulks that can fly.
On one hand, I think this is a mistake. The Endtowners are in a war of genocide, they can’t exactly afford to turn down a change to strike such a decisive blow against the Topsiders.
On the other hand… Flask was seriously losing it. Getting her to chill out a little might be worth even more than taking out a Topsider colony. I just hope they don’t come to regret their act of mercy later.
The Endtown mini-comic that I produced for Comicpalooza 2011 is now available to YOU for the offensively low price of $2.50 (price includes s&h, international add $1 for each copy ordered ). Petey’s not stupid, he knows the difference between punching an aluminum foil sheet and a steel plate. He can tell if the damage he’s dishing out is proportional to what he’d expect a rocket fin to accept. The absence of MUTTs is suspicious, though. Wally left a few of them up in the gantry to share with Petey. What could they possibly be waiting for/
The reason there are no Mutts is that Petey got their first because he can fly. I’m sure the Mutts are on their way. And as far as the rocket goes, Petey is smart enough to know that a twisted or warped guidance fin will certainly throw the rocket off course and cause it to crash. Aaron did some serious thought before he put this episode together.
I was originally convinced that the rocket was a fake to lure out mutants strike teams. But Linda’s reaction makes me think it must be real. Why would she be so frantic about her son if the rocket was never meant to actually launch? Certainly she would have known if it was just a trap. If that rocket is indeed seconds from launch, the support structures above should now be retracted. It appears to be balanced on those three fins. If one leg of the stool is compromised will it stay upright? Curiouser and curiouser…
We’ve now seen that Petey is faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive. If he starts leaping over tall buildings in a single bound, that imminent rocket exhaust should pose very little threat. Perhaps he should have Mallard replace that “3” with an “S”.
aluminium or steel, it doesn’t mater,on that scale. it seems Petey is made of some pretty stern stuff.also, if the rocket is a “tail sitter” a buckle in one “leg” could cause it to fall over.
Wow, cut his head off and made him an appliace.I could go for that.. No more aging, arthritis, etc, etc, How does he eat? What does he eat? He knows what he is but not who? Could we please have an episode explaining the makeup of Petey? Some one (thing) has to breach the gap. Keep it up . I like it .
WOW!!! That is some right hook! Don’t get on Petey’s bad side… He’ll bust you one, but good!.Looks like this is about to be the countdown to TIMBER!!!!
Another option open to Petey would be to rupture the side of the fuel compartment. That’s what happened to the Challenger shuttle, & the effect would be similar here. In fact that is exactly what I was expecting him to do.

It’s a fake. More importantly, it’s a trap!

Petey has a lot of power in those skinny little arms. Didn’t even bother with chips.

punching Aluminum or punching a balloon? What is real and what is fake?
spamster almost 13 years ago
balloons dont go thud. With a deformed fin the rocket will go off course. I just hope it doesnt hit anything we want to keep.

Would exploding it now be the same as exploding it later after a controlled flight into the top town?

Oh boy, that’s a BAD place to be when that sucker lights off.
nerdhoof almost 13 years ago
Maybe there isn’t an army of mutts because it’s seconds before launch, and being that close to the rocket would be suicide.

That’s not another rocket. That’s the topsider launch control facility and outpost ( ie “target”).
