Yes, the rocket was far from complete There’s no fuel, but the team’s feeling heat For the metal was thin Just a round rocket skin Of a type like they’re shouting now: “Sheet!” But the “ROAR” that they’re hearing — what’s that? What about those lights seen by our cat? Was a monster contained And just now unchained Thus (Topsiders hope) stomping them flat? =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum
Good thing it was empty ( and therefor light) since Petey did indeed drop it on himself. Too bad it was a total waste since Miss “I am not to be questioned” screwed up royally.
Bullseye!!!! Now, since the launch seems to be following Flask’s timetable perhaps we get lucky and find out that the real rocket wasn’t set up for launch yet and just goes off into the wastelands.
Flask got out-smarted. But I don’t think it was by the Topsiders, or not just them. Mallard knows Flask well, and would have accounted for her ulterior motives. I recall he even commented on it before sending them out. He took advantage of her and used HER as a decoy and distraction while he ran the real mission to take out the real threat. Just when it looks like the Topsiders have won, they’ll be foiled and Mallard will appear and say, “Gotcha!”
I don’t think this could be the TS intended launch. Remember, Flask synched her i-phone with the controls in the launch center and had the countdown displayed on it. She tried to speed up the launch, so that implies she had control. I think it would be too much of a coincidence for the team to have gotten in and out with just minutes to spare before launch if it were still under TS control. I think this launch is based on the countdown Flask initiated and it is therefore very likely that the “real” rocket was not actually ready for launch. If, as has been previously put forward, the rocket was on some sort of mobile launch vehicle, then it may still be horizontal. Flask may have just sent the rocket and its launch vehicle “rocketing” out across the empty landscape to nowhere in particular. Or not…
Linda is as surprised as the others. The reason is that she and Doug were briefed to guard the rocket, but were not not told that the rocket was a decoy. They were were actually part of the decoy.
another thought just occurred to me. remember waaaaay back in the beginning (very beginning) when Al talked about scavenging in New Persia’s territory? well he still seemed to be within about 10min. walking distance from Endtown, so it could be that the topsiders, while expecting mutants, weren’t expecting Endtowners specifically.
And this ROAR could be one of the monsters that she wants so determinedly to battle. Gotta see this one. Teeth, I think you said. Boy you are darn right good fella. keep it up.Love ya

I think this may be the end of Petey. Hes the only one I can think of that could stop this now, but I dont see how he could survive it.

Well this might mean we will get to go in Topsider city to finish the job.

I believe if one were to look up the word “oops” in Webster’s they would find a copy of panel 4. Thank goodness it’s only Thursday!

What could possible be in the Friday cliffhanger this week?
CaptainKiddeo almost 13 years ago
I thought the fact that there weren’t any Topsiders physically on-site was a little suspicious…but Flask was just puzzled by that.

everyone that guessed it was a red herring can now gloat and dance in an embarrassingly way in their living room. (try it. its fun.)
i suppose that the roar is the real thing. possibly lifting off from an underground silo?

GOOD GRIEF!!! I had totally forgotten about those flashes that Wally had seen earlier. Apparently, so did Wally..Thanks, Boreas2, for reminding us.

No one, not even Linda, is liking the sound of THAT!

I’m with Boreas. Shouldn’t Linda be in on this and not look so surprised as she does?

Well that’s it. Endtown’s fate is sealed.

perhaps a well placed shot from a zero gun could take it down…

They are strapped for “real” rocket parts. Fake rocket parts can be found in any junkyard. :)

Careful Flask, your face may stick that way… :)

Judging from Ms. Koala’s expression, I’d say it’s NOT another rocket. My guess would be some sort of monster.

OK. I’m officially ready for Friday. Why do we have to wait another hour and a half? ;-)
