This is a strip about how rich people should be able to take advantage of the working class? I thought it was a strip about how it’s okay to make fun of gay kids!
The top 1% are not all found in the USA. While the country as a whole is among the richest, it does not follow that all the wealth is spread evenly. The homeless guy with no place to lay his head is hardly among the 1%. Meanwhile, some dirt poor countries have some of the richest folks. Sadly, THAT’s the direction we’re headed.
Standard of living based on life expectancy, education, income and other factors, puts the United States in ninth place in the world. Canada is eighth, but don’t worry, you beat out South Korea. If you can’t be funny, try to be accurate.
This comes from the same place as those commentators who think that, if you have a color TV and a cell phone, you’re not really “poor.”
This diary does a better job than I could of refuting that.http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/12/10/1043995/-Confessions-of-a-Retail-Worker:-The-philosophy-of-voluntary-poverty?via=siderec

Not quite accurate: Norway’s standard of living is the highest standard of living. USA isn’t even in the top 5.

You guys are totally missing the point. The Johns aren’t exactly going to let reality mess with their talking points. ;)

If the 99% are so bad off, who was at the malls on “Blaack Friday”?

Speaking of math how will this school suspension last for Zack?

More accurately, the lower 99% of the top 1% (so the 0.02-0.99%) are protesting that top 1% of the 1% (so the 0.01%) get most of the money. :-s

An old man subsisting in a badly run boarding house thinks he’s right up there with Warren Buffett? I guess THAT’S the real joke.

Hah hah! Very good. All these people protesting just because others are more succesful than they are. How selfish, how self centered, how ridiculous…
