Anyone notice the size of Bernice’s talk balloon?Lots of empty space that would have held Greg’s original wording. Wonder what it was?
Sisyphos almost 13 years ago
I happen to think it’s a fine sweater, Luann. Just because Brad gave it to you, you dislike it? That’s hardly very nice….
Step-Step almost 13 years ago
You know you can scroll back to the orginial date of this comic to see what was originally in the last balloon.
Step-Step almost 13 years ago
Just came back from the 1994 original comic and the balloon isn’t filled in on that one either. Hmmm….

I’ve never seen a dog hold its head in its paws like Puddles in the 2nd panel…

Luann has certainly matured in the past 17, 18, or 25 years. Now she even covers Brad’s back. Question: has each of us also matured socially & morally the past 17, 18, or 25 years? Happy New Year! Time for a few resolutions, eh?

you know… I was getting tired of these old retro strips, but this one got my morning started with a good old fashioned coffee spew….

Calm down! The strip has changed . LuAnn is not in first grade anymore. She and Brad are friends by comparison. I’m glad it is moving in half time…we get a lot more.

Will these flashbacks EVER end?

If that WAS the original thought, its too bad it wasn’t left in. Although the Salvation Army has a Christian background, they help anyone, everyone, of any faith or belief.

Okay… vacations over… let’s get back to the story.
redrosebeetle almost 13 years ago
The Salvation Army will help anyone of any race, color or religion….. unless you are gay. They have a long history of discriminating against gay people and gay families. I’m so glad Mr. Evans removed a reference to them (if that’s what he did)
Airman almost 13 years ago
I agree with your assessment of the Salvation Army. Good people.

I think the reason Greg said that he had his strip written up to 8 weeks in advance was because many of the readers had suggestions as to which way the strip should go and he wanted them to believe that no matter what their idea was, he had already penned the final version. I don’t remember him doing this in recent years. There are so many open arcs in the strip right now. This break in the action is boring. And if he truely had a weeks worth of material ready for the presses, then this revisiting of the past only serves to show how much he has improved over the years.

Last year at this time Luann and Quill were getting ready to share their first real kiss. Since that time she has blown a whole year in which she could have been dating him instead of sending him on a plane trip with Tiffany. In other words – Typical Luann.

Yeah, Take it to Goodwill, that’s probably where Brad got it.

Puddles must be about 25 now.
