…and the Coke Cola company has him as a short elf. There’s nothing in the book about the original being short. Lean (but fed), and well clothed in robes/furs. That’s why he looks heavier than what he is actually.

Saint Nicholas of Myra was a real person in the 4th century. So he’s been doing unpaid charity for 16 centuries.
