As I write this, my cat is comfortably curled up on my pillow and probably will not move unitl later this evening. Then, tonight, as I try to drift off she’ll jump up (purring loudly) and want her back scratched. She’s definitely in control.
When the ex and I were together, she had a cat named Merlin…when we went to bed, he would walk from one end of the house to the other…all night long…we said he went into his “Inspector Catt” mode. After we got up, then he went to sleep!!
We have a cat blanket at the foot of our bed too. The cat only sleeps there at night after we go to bed though. He has other places he prefers during the day.
Cats are nocturnal animals and prefer to do their hunting at night, and that’s why cats generally sleep during the day and are awake most of the night.

Nope Janis, but if he’s anything like my cats, he’s going to tap dance all over the house tonight while your trying to sleep.

Yep, I moved to my food bowl for some crunchies, a quick trip to the litter box and then back to sleep. You wanted more?

Ludwig looks so comfortable! He should be pretty old by now. Maybe that’s why he sleeps so much.
