Song: OH AARON (To the tune of “Oh Carol”, by Greenfield/Sedaka)Oh Aaron, I am but a fool.I read your comic, though you treat me cruel. You hurt me and you make me cry.But if you end it, I will surely die.I will always sit an log in daily‘Cause I love it so.Don’t ever finish.Say you’ll never go.I just want to keep on reading EndtownNo matter what you do.Oh Aaron, I’m so in awe of you.
Either that is Petey coming to save the day, or some doomship that makes their chances of escaping even more nil than before. I’m going to say Petey, because their escape chances were bad enough as it was without any additional dooming.
Could it be the Topsider rocket, crashing back to earth? Now, that would be death by irony. A really big lump or irony.(Technically, it’s not irony, but I can debate English usage elsewhere.)
So I was thinking, what would Endtown do for a cliffhanger today? The result had me laughing — my goodness it is a wonderful cliffhanger. Awesome. As I said, the rest of the transports can theoretically be suborned. It just takes time that they do not have. But as others have noticed, Petey has not done anything in several strips, and could be a factor. The rocket taking its orders from a chip in the decoy? Unlikely. Petey succeeding in getting the rocket deflected, also Unlikely. Petey with a load of dogs that he has turned? The dogs never seemed to have enough intelligence left. But that is what he had at the end. Now the remainder of the transports were the threat. So somehow the dogs are likely to be the solution.
Lets see… We know Petey packs a punch as he demonstrated with the rocket. We know (because Aaron said so himself) that each of those mutts weighs over 100 lbs. What if Petey has drug that gaggle of dangling mutts aloft and is fixin to start slinging them at the transporters surrounding our heros? Could be the ultimate “dogpile”. Cue Jenner: “Oh, flung mutts keep fallin’ on my head…” It’s almost a certainty that the TS are not expecting an attack from above.
Of course, you know, it could be something 50 feet tall with lots of teeth. (Or maybe several somethings.) That underground rocket launch could have really ticked off the local subterrainian neighbors….
There’ve been cliffhangers before. I’ve usually weathered them [because I have lots and lots to do in the intervening 72 hours] but I admit, this one has got my curiosity really piqued [possibly because I have no way of knowing WTF is going on out there!]
its a friday cliffhanger(********************************************************************************************************************************************************)
I’ve heard it said [by certain unimpeachable sources] that Flask once went to a Revival Meeting. Unable to walk, her friends carried her in and set her down in her favorite rocking chair. With a Great Chorus of Blistering Hallelujahs scorching the billowing canvas, the Preacher reached out and pulled Flask to her feet. The woman stood, remaining on her feet without benefit of cane or crutch! It was truly a miracle! And she’s been off her rocker ever since.
My gawrsh. I love this comic so much!! I’ve been reading and following along since November, but just now got an account. I’m going to make a billiton of fanart, buy as many comic books as I can, and I’m spreading the word to my friends about this :D Great job, Aaron! wish you luck for the future comic strips to come!
I love reading the many comments from your radmirers, you are worthy of them and more. But they keep comming up with writers and what is skylark series?I am a Mercedes Lackey fan bound and tied. Could use some education from some of you. You….Aaron have awakened me. Show me more. Other works of art Please… Thank you. My greatest wishes for your return to health. Blessed Be.
My gosh, but the weekend is dragging! Still 13 more hrs until Monday. I think that the only place where time passes slower than here on the weekend is in this strip. We’ve been crawling through the same 10 minutes for over a week! Sweet agony! Not that I want things to be over, mind you. Part of what makes the waiting tolerable is knowing Aaron is still out ahead of us, 10 weeks in the future. I wonder if he’s put any words in Flask’s mouth yet?
I don’t know if there’s a way with the GoComics site to find out the popularity of the comics. There is a section that just links you to the top most visited, and they are the ones you would expect: most commonly ones that have had a lot of newspaper exposure over a long period of time, such as Garfield, Peanuts, Calvin & Hobbes and Doonesbury. But if you measure a comic’s popularity by activity, then Endtown is way up there. At a random day, January 26th, the numbers of comments: Calvin & Hobbes 86, Doonesbury 60, Endtown 47, Peanuts 28.

Blackie – as in Claudia Black? It would not be the first time a web author was inspired by Aeryn Sun.

PETEY TO THE RESCUE!!! I hope, anyway. And either with a thousand mutts hanging off him (hence Wally’s WTF) or riding the real rocket…
DADOF3 almost 13 years ago
For some reason I simply can’t shake the image of Petey doing his best Major Kong impersonation, riding the rocket back to earth. Yee haw!
