Nate still needs to practice respect. I’ve taught my children, you may not respect the person, but respect the position. In this case, Nate needs to respect Mrs. Godfrey’s position as teacher, and his comment is not acceptable in that case.

Y’know, Nate has a point. The majority of his detentions come from Mrs. Godfrey, and whenever she went on some sort of break, the substitutes rarely gave him detentions (like Mr. Gaffney. Nate literally went 5 months without getting a detention, but as soon as Ms, Godfrey returned Ate started getting detentions again.) From what we see of Nate and Godfrey’s relationship, it makes it seem like Nate is usually in the wrong, but that isn’t the case.
Not to mention there have been plenty of strips where we see Ms. Godfrey is straight up biased against him.
