I’m still resisting a Nook or a Kindle, love to hold a book in my hands. <1h>*HI JFRI!!We had some GRITS* weather here today, in the 70s. My husband cooked ribs outside!
good morning and happy friday locos. I’ve been starting to think about a kindle or nook, but I have to finish all the books I bought over the years first. By that time the technology should have changed even more :-)
Buenos Dias Locos! My iPad can be used like a kindle, but I haven’t loaded any books. I prefer holding a book as well. Besides with the library they are free. I imagine the first book I read on this will be when I travel.
LilG’s son has a nook and loaded all of his engineering manuals onto it, which saves him from toting around all of these huge volumes. It’s neat that you can get library books on it. I know that LilG hasn’t time to read so she downloads everything from iTunes or listens to audio books from the library.
There is an app on the Nook called Pulse which you can pick your sources and read what interests you. As an example there is Sports Illustrated NCAA Football and Road & Track where you can pick up items that interest you.
And what Sir cleo did you have for dinner? Any leftover, enough that if we all got some food together, we could have an early New Year’s Eve party, and still keep johnny sober enough for work tmr? :-D
I’m a little late saying good night. I don’t want to over do it before New Year’s Eve. Not that I’m going anywhere…. I may go to bed early to be awakened by car honking at midnight. Whoo-Hoo!
Shika the poster was wondering why we all were debating the conversation between a cow and a chicken. I missed a word, so I went back and corrected it, but I let it stand. Sounded like criticism to me, and I will defend Steve, he is a GREAT cartoonist!
And like you, I will say GOODNIGHT YA’ ALL! I’LL SEE YA’ WHEN I SEE YA’!
Hope your team won JFri, good night, good morning Marg, cleo where are you? And GOODNIGHT!

Didn’t do sufficient research to know about the library loan option on Nook. My Kindle has enough free books available to last my lifetime, though.

Whoo-Hoo! From no feather pillows to a feather bed! Boy, are those ever warm!
I guess you’d need that in northern Iowa with no central heating. BRRR!
