But Doc, it's the only way I can swallow them! And don't you think hiding your cholesterol pills inside a ball of cheese or a glob of peanut butter kinda defeats the purpose?
The kind of cholesterol tey’re talking about when referring to your blood or your diet does not exist in plants. You can only get it from animal sources – meat, eggs, dairy. The cheese you melt on top has cholesterol, but the eggplant doesn’t.
Last night’s Dr Oz had stuff on extranious materials that could be (purpously or not) in supplements that people buy. I was glad to see that it was mostly weight loss or energy items (that I never would use) but the info showed that factories of cut rate vitamins might also not have the best standards (just as candy and other say “fabricated in … where peanuts etc are also processed” or similar, except that here we are talking about medical drugs. I have stopped taking even vitamins since I eat so many good fruits and vegetables as well as seeds and whole grains. My latest bloodwork was great! At 74 I use no medications. I admit to too much TV and was glad to see that 2 favorite crime shows have new season (Criminal Minds and The Mentalist). I can’t watch just cooking and decorating ;-P
