That’s just a dog’s way of saying, “I’m bored, there’s nothing to do around here”. Can’t tell the dog to do the laundry though like I was told when i said that to my mother, back in the day. The best thing to do is to just go ahead and take the dog for a walk, then with an inventive form of “fetch”, have the dog help clean up. —Fetch the paper Fred, Fetch the slippers, Fetch the empty pop can Fred, you can do it boy!
