Todayâs strip is a profound commentary on human relationships, showing how difficult it can sometimes be to connect with another person, especially from a distance.Todayâs commentary is a test of human relationships that exist as a result of connecting with people at a distance, to see how many people recognize that Iâm just kidding.
@goldenroya: Thatâs very funny and well-written. I guess what is missing from the standard choices of smileys available is an eye-rolling version. On the other hand, perhaps that helps to facilitate more politeness. Itâs amazing how well the multinational group of posters here manages to communicate using only words, without being able to use voice inflection, facial expressions, or other body language. But it does sometimes cause misunderstandings, especially when comments are highly subtle, and in particular if they involve highly subtle humor. I sometimes wish that I could watch readersâ facial expressions as they read what I post, so that I could see when I am not communicating or am accidentally creating misunderstanding.
Thanks algurka. It does become exhausting at times having a dual role, constantly running back and forth between the comic strip and this posting site. But I try hard to keep a smile on my iconâs face.:>)
âAnd if thereâs anybody out there not rolling their eyes, I invite them to do so now. Thereâs nothing so annoying as someone trying to tell the artist what they meant by their own creation. "Hmmm. Pot/Kettle?
Years ago, someone in our area bought a new shotgun, one where you load the shells, pull back the mechanism, the spent shell ejects and a new one goes in. He was bragging to his friends:âI got seven shots in at a rabbit!!ââDid you get him?ââNo, but I got seven shots in at him!!â
Tally so far:Number of people who realized I was just kidding: several.Number of people who didnât: 2Not sure whether they did or didnât: 1NowâŠâŠ.. as to the philosophical implications that Bill Watterson intended to imply by drawing a wheelbarrowâŠâŠ.
This is what happens when you let one of the Snow Goons operate the sighting mechanismâŠ.itâs really hard, as usual, to get good help these days, hence Calvinâs expressionâŠ.
Itâs amazing that UClick will censure our posts but can put up a funny like Berke Breathed The Academia Waltz on 1-25-12. Itâs funny as heck but alludes to a lot of stuff I would never post here. Double standard me thinks.
@Shikamua-moo: Yes, I was kidding. Thatâs why I added the smiley face. When I said to Dogsniff, âyou canât be serious,â it was supposed to be a play on words with a double meaning. The second meaning is the literal one â when you write humor, you literally canât be serious, because then it wouldnât be humor.Yet another case where I wish that I could watch his face when he reads it, to make sure that he catches the subtle humor and I donât accidentally offend him.

Calvin has 13 snowballs in the air at one time. Thatâs bad luck! Perhaps if he threw only a few snowballs at one time, heâd be more accurate!
monawarner about 13 years ago
Another day when the comments are more entertaining the strip. Thanks, everybody.

In panel two, Susie is trying to figure out why a snowball is being thrown at her, but itâs âover her headâ!
