I, too, hated book reports. They almost ruined my love of reading. For me, oral book reports weren’t nearly as painful as written ones. However, giving an oral book report meant that you actually had to have read the book because the teacher would invariably ask some question that you could not answer from the movie version or the Cliff’s Notes.
