Roger: I thought you were working for Paige. Jason: I quit this morning. Roger: Any particular reason? Jason: I got tired of the constant lectures and corrections and "do it my way or the highway" speeches. Roger: I had no idea she was so bossy. Jason: No, no, that was me. Roger: You have an interesting view of labor relations. Jason: Hey, I'm not going to be just anybody's subordinate.

Breaking in a new boss is so exhausting. The average tenue of a squadron commander in the Air Force is about 3 years as is the average assignment. So unless you arrive at roughtly the same time as the boss, you’ll go through at least one change of command. Multiply that by a 20 year career and that’s about 14 or 15 bosses.
