imagine all the preparation it took to set up the phony photograph of Roosevelt and Churchill enjoying some innocent pleasures during wartime. Since FDR , a polio victim , was unable to walk at all , his out-of-sight presidential assistants had to help him out of the wheelchair (that was whisked out of the picture) balance him on the rock and bring over Churchill and pose for the shot.
I just checked out Annoying: The Science of What Bugs Us from my public library. I feel slightly annoyed that I have only two weeks (instead of the usual four) to read and return it because other annoying people also have requested it.Happy 100 birthday, Chas Addams!

Nothing at all annoying, Gaijin Rab, about the photo. Me not well travelled, and thanks for the pix…there IS civilization, you say?
