I quit a three-pack-a-day habit on January 31st 2000 (at 12:10 pm.) Spent the next sixteen days in hospital for an unrelated illness and when I came out I had quit. Being sedated for the first week really helped…

I quit two packs a day cold turkey after smoking 25 years. How bad do you want to quit? That’s what it boils down to.
