“AAUGH” (especially with two A’s) is a sign of spiritual insecurity. Most of us have an inner sense that Paul was right to spur us on to “Pray without ceasing.” Prayer is recognition of our dependence on God.
It’s nice to see a strip with reference to Christianity generate healthy discussion, and not a rock fight. Since God knows what we need before we ask it, prayer is primarily to ask for guidance and to align our will and desires with God’s will and desires, and to thank God for His blessings, which are more than we can even begin to comprehend. Begging is one way to look at prayer, but it’s an immature and redundant approach to it. If nothing else, constant prayer keeps your mind and your heart where they need to be.
Prayer should be refreshing, a heartfelt conversation with our Creator, knowing we can communicate with a power so great that we cannot at all fully comprehend it. And yet, little dust balls that we are, made from the dust, the very earth, we are heard by the most awsome Being in the Universe.

Praying is begging. It is impolite to beg. But how about a little “Thank you!” after a great day?
