As kids we had fun in one of those old clunkers until Tink had an “accident” after seeing a fiddle back (a brown recluse spider) in between the seats!
That tree is not growing through the bed of the truck, it is growing IN the bed of the truck. A common occurrence around here is for straw to be left in the bed of the truck and the wheat or oats will sprout and be 3 to 6 inches tall before the owner will clean it out…..
My husband told me a story once about how his sister-in-law couldn’t part with an old car her husband (my husband’s brother) bought her sometime back in the 1970’s so when she had to get a newer one, rather than sell the old one to someone who could really use it, she parked it in their backyard. After a few years, a tree grew up through the rotted floorboards inside the car and then went through the rotted roof! Eventually, they had to have it towed away and junked.

You don’t have to be a plugger for this to happen……most of the houses around here have one or more of these in the front garden.
