Iā€™d take a long trip or two.

Iā€™m sorry for your loss. Yes, anyone who is more concerned about the wealth they will get when their parents pass, are very misguided and will regret things later. Thatā€™s also pretty sad.

Momma, convert your stocks, bonds and jewelry into more cash and take a looong trip. Spend it all ā€˜cause the kids donā€™t really want it. As naggy as you are, theyā€™d still rather have you. I miss my mama everyday and she was far from perfect. My daddy too for that matter.

I have 4 great kids who donā€™t want my stuff that much either (and some are doing much better than I). I do NOT have any wish to travel; that was fun in my younger days but all the regulations and rudeness make it just a pain. I love my home and prefer just to stay here. If I had the means to continue redecorating as I was while employed I would be exstatic. I just want to maintain my house and my health for as long as I am living without becoming a burdon on them. Iā€™m currently is excellent health but expect to live just another decade or 2, as Iā€™m 74.

My mom, who passed 13 months ago, left a house to my estranged sister and me. Sis (the executor) has been living in it the whole time, while I am ā€œhomelessā€. (I have been lodging with a friend, and have been very comfortable, but that all changes on the first of next month). Iā€™m hoping to find resolution at my next appointment with my lawyerā€¦ā€¦on the 31st. (Howā€™s that for suspense/anxiety?)
