He could have had Jello. Actually all that stuff is made from the hide and bones; not the hooves. Don’t you hate know-it-alls.

Here’s what Wikpedia has to say:Gelatin is derived mainly from pork skins, pork and cattle bones, or split cattle hides; contrary to popular belief, horns and hooves are not used.

Also, from http://www.gelatin-gmia.com/html/qanda.html:Q.Isn’t Gelatin made from horse hooves?A.No. Horse hooves are made of keratin, the same material as your hair and fingernails. Gelatin cannot be made from keratin.

(I know bulls/cows are not horses, but their hooves are the same.)

    I learned something today!

Marshmallows also have gelatin, which is supposedly made by boiling cow hooves.

Whether you think it’s funny (opinions are like a**holes. Everybody has one and they all stink.) or not Rubin does his homework:

    http://www.gelatin-gmia.com/html/qanda.html

Q.Where does gelatin come from? A.

The raw materials used in the production of gelatin are from healthy animals and include cattle bone, cattle hides and fresh, frozen pigskins. In the North American market, these raw materials are basically sourced from government-inspected meat processing facilities.

    Q. How is gelatin used? A.

Gelatin has traditionally been used in three major areas: food, pharmaceutical, and photographic industries.

Gelatin use in the food industry is probably best recognized in gelatin desserts and confectionery applications such as marshmallows and gummi candies. It is also used as a binding and/or glazing agent in meats and aspics.

It’s extra funny when I have to consult the internet to understand a joke. That’s why when I go see stand up comics I bring Siri along so she can explain it to me. Doesn’t everybody?
