The words are a well regulated militia. A few of those look kind of irregular. A good dose of this space for lease should clean them right out and ready for militia-ing.

A good laxative should have them regular or regulated in the morning.

Actually the militia in the 2nd Amendment was the Founding Father’s solution to a standing military, to which they were opposed. BUT, the 2nd Amendment is also about the individual right of the citizen to have the means to protect his or herself and family from harm. Harm comes in all kinds of form. Wild animals, Indians, bandits, burglars and the criminally insane, to mention just a few. You have a God given right to defend yourself against those who would harm you, including a intrusive controlling government. The 2nd Amendment is second because it is so important.

The concept of a citizen’s militia is to defend ourselves from either a foreign invader or, should it become necessary, our own government. This is evidenced by the history of when the Bill of Rights was written. We had to battle our own government, then the British Monarchy. We weren’t going to be interested in giving up our newly one freedoms to another over reaching goverment.

Still going with the false premise that the Second Amendment is about militias only, eh? Well, that IS the liberal motto, “Reality and truth are irrelevant and unimportant, it’s OK to lie and make stuff up out of thin air”, right?

It really bugs me when the anti-gun folks really do not understand the 2nd amendment. They completely forget that the founding fathers had just overthrown the government and they preserved the right for the citizens to overthrow, by force of arms if necessary, the new government they were putting into place. Heck, they are actually quoted saying pretty much just that!

The Second Ammendment will always be necessary because people are people and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The right to bear arms is intended to keep our government from becoming a dictatorship.
