    women wear bags this way not only to prevent crime but to distribute the weight of their bags. one shoulder isnt always bearing all the weight, and leaning left. distracting or attracting a male, for some, doesnt figure in at all.

    I don’t frequent high-crime areas so I wear a bag on one shoulder or better -wear pants with pockets. I shop in stores where organic products are sold and it is less likely that anyone will steal. Pockets are better than purses.
