It’s amazing what kids will do to earn that bath.

Exactly the reaction my cousins and I had when we encountered a bunch of mussels clinging to a piling. Snot in an armored shell!! Eewwww!!!! as we cracked ’em open and flung the guts at each other. (Not one of my proudest moments, for the PETA people out there. To this day I refuse to eat mussels,)

He must be on vacation.

If you’ll see King Shark’s comment – Hobbes had inadvertently been caught in the washer & was drying out. As these are old replays, that wasn’t shown sequentially in this current format.

About 20 years ago some of my friends and I were about to cross what we thought was a dry creek bed. I hesitated and tried to warn the others not to cross there because I saw the type of plants in the “creek bed” and suspected it was a bog. I was right, but some didn’t listen and got very muddy shoes. EWWWW!! ;)

The V.A. makes me do this once a year. Go through my #&*% and smear it on a little cardboard square and send it in to scan --hemoccult——-eewwwwww!

Kids playing in the dirt and mud help build up immunities safely and gradually. There is such a thing as staying too clean.

This (todays) strip is so funny because it’s so true, at least for me as a kid it was. It’s the ewwww that draws you in. We could come home so dirty sometimes!

I remember those days. Good memories.

His mother will have to hose him down outside the house first before he’ll even be allowed in the bathtub!

Or, better still, I really like King Shark’s suggestion too . . . just put him in the washing machine!!!!!

Some years ago, I was working in a field, and noticed 1/4 mile away, a boy about 4 yrs stripped down and went swimming in a HOG WALLOW! Then his ma came along and took him to the house. I couldn’t hear what she was saying, but I bet it wasn’t very complimntary!

Betcha this is a one time thing for Calvin.

I think that’s how Muddy Waters got started.

Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Be content. Your god is away. I consider it a welcome absence and a blessing seeing others simple funny comments. It’s nice not having the strip cominated by one person.
