Because the fruit name came first, Rory. The color was named after the fruit, not the other way around.

and an apple is a red. no… a green… a yellow! no, that’s a banana… oh, the heck with it.

That was a valid question Rory. I’ve often wondered that myself! :-D

A lemon could be called a yellow, but I would be afraid to ask a bartender for a splash of yellow in my cocktail.

I have GOT to remember that!

Because monkey’s named the banana and they couldn’t pronounce yellow. Now say…..baaaa. Naaaaaaa…naaaahhhh.

Because it starts green, turns yellow, then brown.
