I have on food stamps for 2 years but I got a job today. If it were not for that help I would have had to carve Newt up and eat him. That still seems like a good idea. Think of all the people you could feed just with his huge pumpkin head.

I’m sure the guy who works as a school janitor will be delighted to give up his job so than his teenage son can do the work at half the pay. If NG were serious, he would be proposing a new CCC, so the poor kids could get summer jobs taking care of our parks and national lands, in the fresh air and sunshine, learning a work ethic and getting some exercise, etc.; most importantly: doing work that otherwise would not be done at all, work that would be for the collective benefit of the nation. Rather than simply exploiting them to get cheap labor and eliminate the jobs of others, and stigmatize them among their classmates like the “charity boys” at some Dickensian school. But perhaps that is what NG meant. Give the kids the opportunity to earn money by creating jobs for them. Working in their schools. Paid by the taxpayers. Government jobs. That’s it! NG is proposing to eliminate youth poverty and unemployment by giving kids government jobs! Millions of new government jobs! And he calls himself a Conservative!

Walk a mile in the shoes of a food stamp recipient…you will see that even with food stamps, making rent (no house payments for these poor souls), utilities, insurance, etc is a trial. We have seen too many hard working, decent people bow their heads and accept help through the food stamp program and the local food pantry. Newt, Mitt, and even President Obama may have never been poor or even known what it is like to be poor, but I trust Obama to be more empathetic than any of the Rethuglicans out there. We support Obama and will work tirelessly for his re-election.

The distressing part of Newt’s “code-talk” is that the majority of people on food stamps are white…a fact that he CLEARLY wants to hide, all the while ginning up us v them not-so-subtle racism.

Newt, again, neuters himself. Sadly for America many followers roar their approval of his drivel.

No, you do not give a serial liar the benefit of the doubt. Besides, there’s no need. Connecticut went after “welfare cheats” aggressively a few years ago and found that there were so few cheaters that the amount spent to find them was significantly more than the amount taken dishonestly. The old “welfare cheat” meme goes back to Reagan, and it wasn’t true then, either.

“Newt” the new “N word” nobody should have to hear.

It would more likely be the NSA but, just the same no one needs the racist undertones of this GOP primary explained.
