The only voice recognition in those days were when you asked someone, “Guess who?”

LOVE! Especially since I seem to be in the minority who not only doesn’t have a “smart” phone but I’ve never played Angry Birds!

When we were at my grandmothers it was a crank phone with a separate ear piece – and in the city (back home) you picked up the phone and the operator said, “Number please.” (And then, more than likely, “I’m sorry, the lion is busy.” (Sounded like.)

When I was a kid we would pick up the receiver and wait to see if anyone else was talking on the line before dialing the 4 digit number we wanted. I hated party lines. You never knew who was listening in to your conversation.
