Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for April 11, 1989
Transcript:
Dad: When I realize that Luann is now old enough to want pierced ears, I sure do feel old. Dad: And the fact that I don't think she's old enough makes me feel old fashioned. Dad: When I was young, only fast women and catholic girls had pierced ears. now, infants have em. Maybe I am getting old... Mom: I'll tell you one thing, Frank--listening to you go on about this is definitely getting old.

If I had a teenage daughter and ALL she wanted to get pierced was her EARS, I’d be thrilled; so many kids are defacing themselves with piercings these days!

I’m in my 30’s now and never gotten my ears pierced. I remember begging my mom to get them pierced at 16 so I can be normal. I grew up super insanely strict. After I was grown, I never saw a reason why to pierce them and it kind of reminds me of where I came from. I still don’t understand why parents don’t allow girls to get their ears pierced.
