Although 14/15 years in the US would beat a lifetime in a Rio slum, African war-torn nation etc. Many of the men I served with (US Army Sig Corps) in Turkey 1964 came back to the US with fewer complaints.Someone once calculated that if everyone on the planet had the standard of living that the US does, it would take the natural resources of 5.1 Earths to supply them. (But we have only one!)
I certainly envy our dog! She’s the “baby” of the the family and is treated as such. All her wants and needs are taken care of and all she has to do is just sit / lay around, looking cute! One thing’s for sure: if there really IS such a thing as reincarnation, then I want to come back in my next life as my dog!!!!!
I just got back from seeing the dentist today. Seems to me he was very well paid for very little work on his part. But then again, I wouldn’t want to spend the day with my hands in someones mouth either.
I don’t envy my pets. Imagine depending on some to feed you, give you water and walk you if you are a dog. Or change your kitty litter if you are a cat. When owners fail to do these things, who suffers more? The pet, of course.
I feel lucky to have had pets to care for. The affection and company I receive in return is all I need.

John should go listen to the Logical Song by Supertramp. That’s how he’s feeling right now. Dogs help with anxiety and depression.

The pets are all so worth every thing we do for them. And love us so much.
