Sorry Miss Othmar, the best you can do is keep records of your out-of-pocket classroom expenses and itemize them on your tax return.

In New Hampshire, the Supreme Court requires that enough be spent for students to get an “Adequate Education”. The debate now is: What’s Adequate? People who don’t want to spend money say “Second Grade is good enough”. Ignorance is even more expensive than education.

So that’s why teachers were skinny little things back then!

This is the reason teachers go on strike. They want that extra money and the kids suffer with hardly a Christmas vacation and seniors don’t graduate until the end of June. It’s pathetic.

I remember those film strips and reel to reel movies they showed. Remember in first grade the movie about how a caterpillar becomes a beautiful Monarch butterfly. And how about the special movie for the 5th and 6th grade girls only; about becoming women. Hmmm.

I think Linus is right, teachers should get paid more. I mean after all, some of the students are bad.

…and by the number of children she ferries or leads around. So much per head.
