I have found the most effective way to keep Christmas lights from getting tangled into a knotted ball - leave them up all year, just replace bulbs as needed.

Thanks WD! That’s what I’m going to tell my wife the next time she gives me a hard time for not taking the lights down.

In windy KS, they still get tangled up while they are on the house, especially if you get those pretty dangling kind.
